Bariatric surgeon Timothy Ehrlich, MD, FACS, Director of the Bariatric Surgery Center at Griffin Hospital, CT will moderate a Q&A session with Ms. Ali, and also discuss the latest bariatric surgery options available for patients. Dr. Ehrlich has performed nearly 2,000 bariatric procedures in Connecticut, and is involved in numerous clinical trials for new and innovative methods for weight loss. He is a national lecturer and has been appointed to various think tanks looking at the future of the surgical management of obesity.

Dr. Ehrlich will be joined by staff from the Bariatric Surgery Center’s nutritional and psychological counseling, diagnostic imaging, and rehabilitation and exercise service offerings, as well as some of his former patients, who share their personal experiences. Representatives from several leading weight loss surgery vendors will also be on hand to share information on their products and services for bariatric patients.

“The Bariatric Surgery Center at Griffin Hospital is hosting the event as part of its Planetree approach to caring for bariatric patients,” said Dr. Ehrlich. “Focusing not only on the weight loss surgery itself, but also on educating and empowering patients and their family members pre- and post-operatively, Griffin’s Center is geared toward long-term success. Our goal is to not only help patients achieve and maintain dramatic, life-changing weight loss, but to live healthier lives.”

All registered attendees will receive a free gift bag and be entered into a drawing for a Wii and Wii Fit game system, free vitamins, and more. Admission is free, but pre-registration is required to qualify for the drawings. To register, call the office at (203) 880-5000.
