Skinny Nugget: Wear a Pedometer!

Did you know? Wearing a pedometer can actually make you more active. According to a British study, men who wore pedometers and noted their steps in a journal daily found a 16 percent increase in their activity levels. The study’s author, Stacy Clemes, Ph.D., says, “People turn competitive with themselves and try to beat their previous numbers.” So, give it a shot: compete against yourself!

Skinny Nugget: Eat 3 Meals A Day

Swedish researchers have found that people who regularly eat three meals a day are almost 40 percent less likely to develop metabolic syndrome, a condition that can put you at risk for heart disease and diabetes. And folks who ate “3 squares” a day were also leaner than people who ate more sporadically.

We’re here to help you, but assuring weight loss success – and continued success! – takes effort and focus on your part.

Along with testimonials from weight loss surgery patients and seminar schedules, “The Skinny” will provide you with information you may not know about bariatric diet, exercise, health, and dealing with food issues. We may even pass along a LAP-BAND® recipe or two. Some tips will come from your fellow patients, and others will comes from scientists, researchers, dietitians and fitness experts.
